While technological progress didn’t start with the iPhone, the range of the opportunities and access for the general population has largely expanded in the last few years. Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics have become part of the public discourse almost everywhere.

NYMEX WTI Crude futures front month contract

Front month CME Group NYMEX Crude Oil futures reached a 3 ½ year high of 72.83 on May 22nd. The post financial crisis 50% front month level of 70.44 was temporarily breached in early May and lasted about 3 weeks before retreating into the mid-60s.

Bolstered by a stronger U.S. dollar, small cap stocks – particularly those that comprise the Russell 2000® index – have gained in the last month. A benchmark for U.S. small-cap stock performance, the Russell 2000 Index consists of the lower ~2,000 small-cap stocks in the Russell 3000 Index.
